The outfits include mentioned in the letter includes Bajrang Dal, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Hindu Jagaran Samiti, Dharm Jagaran Samanvay Samiti, Hindu Rashtra Sena, Rashtriya Sevika Samiti, Shiksha Bharti, Muslim Rashtriya Manch, Durga Vahini, Swadeshi Jagaran Manch, Bharatiya Kisan Sangh, Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, Bharatiya Rail Sangh, ABVP, Akhil Bharatiya Shikshak Mahasangh, Hindu Mahasabha, Hindu Yuva Vahini and the Hindu Putra Sangh.
The SP had instructed to gather all details including names, addresses, telephone numbers and business associations of all office-bearers of the RSS and its following associate organizations within a week.
Reacting to the issue, JDU general secretary KC Tyagi termed it a normal routine incident. He said,” This is a routine matter, which the police or the intelligence wing of every state or the central government does from time to time. It should not be construed as an attempt either to target or malign the image of any organisation.”
However, the opposition Congress has termed this exercise as a result of conflict in the JDU-BJP alliance. Bihar Congress leader and MLC Prem Chandra Mishra said, “Nitish Kumar has not only been sidelined but been bullied by the BJP’s top leadership after the Lok Sabha poll result”. “He is not feeling comfortable at all in the alliance and so making his plans to retaliate,” he added.
