Congress appoints Kuldeep Singh Rathore as Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee chief

New Delhi | The Congress party ahead of the Lok Sabha election on Friday appointed Kuldeep Singh Rathore as the new president of its Himachal Pradesh unit.

In an issued statement the party announced that Rathore will be replacing Sukhvinder Singh Sukku as the new president of the Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee. The statement read,” Congress president Rahul Gandhi has appointed Kuldeep Singh Rathore as president of the Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee with immediate effect. “The party appreciates the hard work and contribution of Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, who will be stepping down from his responsibility as PCC president of Himachal Pradesh,” a statement from AICC general secretary Ashok Gehlot said.

Earlier on Thursday, the Congress party had appointed Shiela Dikshit as the President of the Delhi unit.
