Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar appointed as Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra Assembly

Mumbai | Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar was today appointed as the leader of opposition in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly.

Wadettiwar’s appointed comes after Rebel Congress leader Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil resigned from the post the Leader of Opposition and Congress party and joined the BJP. He also took oath as Cabinet Minister in the Devendra Fadnavis cabinet.

The Congress leader is the first MLA from the Vidharbha region to be appointed as the Leader of Opposition in the state assembly. Wadettiwar is also credited for Congress sole seat victory on the Chandrapur Lok Sabha seat where Congress candidate Balubhau Dhanorkhar defeated then Union Minister Hansraj Ahir.
