Congress’ Muniratna wins Rajarajeshwari Nagar seat by 41,162 votes

Bengaluru: Congress candidate Muniratna on Thursday won the Rajarajeshwari Nagar (RR Nagar) assembly constituency in Karnataka by 41,162 votes.

GH Ramachandra of JDS and Tulasi Muniraju Gowda of BJP were contesting in the Rajarajeshwari Nagar Constituency.

Earlier the election in the constituency was postponed due to reports of an alleged fake voter ID scam. About 746 voter ID cards were found from a flat in SLV Park View Apartment in Bengaluru’s Jalahalli locality by Election Commission (EC) officials on May 8.

Across 471 polling stations on May 28 about 53 percent voter turnout was recorded in RR Nagar.

Today’s result takes the total tally of Congress Mla’s to 75 in Karnataka assembly.

‘Mahaghatbandan’s success is evident in Kairana polls’: Congress

TestHostEntry

New Delhi: The Congress party on Thursday after the results of the by-poll said that “In Kairana ByPolls, the Mahaghatbandan’s success is evident. The important issue to be noticed is the margin of votes.”

Addressing the press conference, Congress leader Manish Tewari alleged that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Aditynaths act of polarisation has been rejected by people of Kairana and Noorpur.

Congress leader Pramod Tiwari questioned PM Modi’s rally in Bagpat ahead of the by-election. “PM held rallies and inaugurated a 9km road as a campaign stunt after the election code of conduct was set in. This demeans the chair of PM.” said the 7-time Congress Mla.

The Veteran Congress leader further added that “The writing of the wall is clear. BJP’s exit and success of Congress and its allies are guaranteed.”

Alleging BJP government of misusing the Constitutional machinery, Manish Tewari said, “The ideology of BJP is to misuse government institutions like CBI and ED and undertake vendetta politics.”
