Amid the internal turmoil in the party following the disastrous results in the Lok Sabha party, serious questions on the party’s leadership and future are being raised.
After managing to secure only 52 seats out of 543 member Lok Sabha, party chief Rahul Gandhi took moral responsibility and offered to resign from the position.
However, the Congress Working Committee, the highest decision-making body in the party, refused the resignation and asserted that the blame is not of an individual to bear, it goes for the entire party.
Despite this, Gandhi is still insisting on resigning. Various top leaders have met him since to convince him otherwise.
