New Delhi: On Monday number of anti-Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) rallies is scheduled as the situation continues to remain tense across India. At least 18 people have died in Uttar Pradesh due to violence during agitation, around a thousand have been arrested and many others booked. In the wake of violent agitation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has tried to calm the situation by assuring that the CAA will not affect a single India citizen irrespective of religion. Despite PM Narendra Modi’s message, protests continued across the nation in full swing. Congrees leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday lead one anti-CAA protest at Delhi’s Rajghat.
Senior Congress leaders Digvijay Singh, Kamal Nath, Ashok Gehlot, and other senior leaders reached Rajghat. Congress Interim Chief Sonia Gandhi, former Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi, and Congress Eastern UP General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi were also part of the protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act.
Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi along with party leader staged a dharna against the Citizenship Amendment Act. Congress leaders Ghulam Nabi Azad, Ahmed Patel, and others were also present along with Priyanka Gandhi.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh were also part of the protest in Rajghat.

The Congress party held that in line with Mahatma Gandhi’s path of non-violence, it will fight against the “dictatorial” government and protect the “sacred” Constitution.
The Congress leader said there is widespread resentment against the recent actions of the central government, where people across India, especially the youth, are demanding the restoration and maintaining the sanctity of rights guaranteed by the Constitution.
