New Delhi| In a recent development in case of January 5 violence in JNU, the Delhi High Court on Tuesday ordered Delhi Police to seize mobile phones of the members of the WhatsApp group in which the attack was allegedly planned. Court also asked WhatsApp and Google to preserve and provide the information related to the violence to Delhi Police.
Justice Brijesh Sethi also ordered Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) administration to provide CCTV footage of the violence as soon as possible.
The court was responding to the plea filed by JNU professors Ameet Parameswaran, Atul Sood and Shukla Vinayak Sawant seeking directions to the Delhi Police Commissioner and Delhi government.

Three FIRs have been registered in the Vasant Kunj Police station in relation to JNU violence. Delhi Police Crime Branch has said that they’d question the 2 suspects and those who were injured in the violence. They said they are also going to question those who called on the control room number on the day of violence.
Crime Branch officers questioned three students on Monday, including the JNUSU President Aishe Ghosh.
Ghosh, Talukdar, Ranjan, Dolan Samanta, Vhaskar Vijay Mech, Chunchun Kumar (a JNU alumni) and Pankaj Mishra have been named as suspects.
They also said that the Forensic Science Laboratory team (Cyber) will be visiting JNU to collect evidence.
