Don’t compare ‘Cricket and Strike’; Pak General replies to Amit Shah

Gafoor on his personal twitter account wrote, ” Dear Amit Shah yes your team won a match. Well played. Two things with different denominators can’t be compared. So are strikes & match.”

Islamabad | The cricket match between India and Pakistan got over on May 16 with India defeating its arch-rival, but the heat is still on. Latest being Pakistan Army General’s reply to Indian Home Minister Amit Shah on his tweet after the match.

Home Minister Amit Shah after the match compared Indian Team’s victory over Pakistan as another strike on its neighbouring country. Shah on Twitter wrote, “Another strike on Pakistan by and the result is same. Congratulations to the entire team for this superb performance. Every Indian is feeling proud and celebrating this impressive win.”

Angered by the comparison, Major General Asif Gafoor, Spokesperson of the Pakistan Armed Forces said that the Indian team victory should not be compared with strikes. Gafoor on his personal twitter account wrote, ” Dear Amit Shah yes your team won a match. Well played. Two things with different denominators can’t be compared. So are strikes & match.”

Gafoor further mentioning Pakistan’s retaliation on the Indian Air Force aerial strike on Balakot wrote,” If in doubt please see results of our Nowshera counter strikes & response to IAF violation on 27 Feb19 downing two Indian jets. Stay Surprised.”

Shah in his tweet was referring to the February 26 strikes carried out by India on terrorist training camp in Balakot in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Pakistan, however, denied that there was any damage or casualties in the IAF air strikes.
