The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday morning conducted raids at the Nagpur residence of former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh in a money laundering case.
Notably, this is the second raid by the agency at the minister’s residence in a month.

The ED team reached Deshmukh’s residence with a huge posse of police and central police forces, sparking speculation of further stringent action in the matter.

Parambir claimed that Anil Deshmukh used to ask police officers to collect money from restaurants and bar owners of Mumbai. In his letter, Mr Singh had also mentioned that former assistant inspector Sachin Vaze, an accused in the Antilia bomb-scare and Mansukh Hiren murder case, and ACP Sanjay Patil were given a target to collect Rs 100 crores a month. Mr. Deshmukh had denied all allegations.
