Fast-Track implementation of govt. welfare schemes: PM Modi to Chief Ministers

PM Modi while addressing the CMs also reiterated his views of holding simultaneous elections. Since the past few years, Prime Minister Modi has been advocating the simultaneous election.

As the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections are nearing, the incumbent Modi government has started gearing up for a tough battle. On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP National President Amit Shah called a meeting of BJP Chief Ministers. It is learnt that PM Modi directed the Chief Ministers to fast-track the implementation of various schemes in their respective states. The move comes in the wake of strong criticism faced by the Modi government for its various schemes and programmes. Modi also appealed the CMs to ensure that the government welfare scheme reaches the masses.

The meeting was held at BJP’s newly built headquarters in New Delhi. The Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers of 14 BJP-ruled states were present for the meeting barring Goa CM Manohar Parrikar due to health issues. The meeting was also attended by Union Ministers like Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley.

The Chief Ministers were asked to spread awareness among masses about the benefits of simultaneous Lok Sabha and State Assembly elections. While talking to reporters, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh said, “It was decided in the meeting that the CMs will take up the responsibility of creating public awareness about the Positive impacts of simultaneous elections and the drawbacks of frequent elections.

The Party President Amit Shah also evaluated party’s preparedness ahead of 2019 Lok Sabha Election. The party high command also asked the Chief Ministers to tender a report on their work in the state including the status of Govt. welfare scheme implementation.
