Former Foreign Secretary S. Jaishakar likely to be a part of Modi Cabinet

New Delhi | Amid Speculation of who could be a part of the new Modi cabinet, reports have arisen that former foreign secretary Subrahmanyam Jaishankar could also be a part of the Narendra Modi team.

Jaishankar who played a key role in the India-US nuclear agreement served as the Foreign Secretary from January 2015 to January 2018. S. Jaishankar who joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1977 served as Indian Ambassador to the United States, China, Czech Republic, and as High Commissioner to Singapore. A Padma Shree awardee in 2019, Jaishankar joined Tata Sons as President, Global Corporate Affairs.

The rumours arrived after he arrived at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg, the residence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi where he is meeting the leader who would take oath as Ministers in the new Modi Cabinet today at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
