Good News for Delhi tenants: CM Kejriwal announces subsidy in Electricity Bill

CM Kejriwal announced in a press conference that now tenants will also get a discount of up to 200 units in their electricity bill.

 

New Delhi| Assembly elections are due in Delhi next year. Before that, the Chief Minister of the state Arvind Kejriwal has been making big announcements for the people of Delhi one after the other. On Tuesday, CM Kejriwal brought good news for the tenants.

CM announced in a press conference that now tenants will also get a discount of up to 200 units in their electricity bill. He said that the tenants in Delhi were not getting the benefit of cheap electricity, because the entire house gets electricity from a meter, due to which the landlords also charge more bills.

The Chief Minister announced a Pre-paid meter scheme

Kejriwal announced that the Delhi govt has prepared the Chief Minister’s tenant power meter scheme. He said,

“Prepaid meters will be installed at tenants. The charges which are incurred by the normal people will also be felt by them. Copy of rent agreement and ID proof of that address will have to be given.”

 

“Giving three numbers for this. It has home delivery. BSES YAMUNA 19122, BSES RAJADHANI 19123 and TATA 19124200. “

Stickers will be installed on tenants’ house

The Chief Minister said that landlords did not even give NOC to tenants due to fear. Under the Chief Minister’s tenant power meter scheme, prepaid meters will be installed for tenants. People of Delhi are getting electricity 24 hours without any cuts. However, transformers are changing in some areas. He said that now tenants will not have to take NOC. To get the benefit of the scheme, the agreement or rent receipt and address proof of that house will have to be given.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that today orders are being issued, stickers will also be installed at the tenants’ house. Any tenant can benefit from this scheme, but its data is not available. He said that in this scheme 3 thousand rupees will have to be given security money, which will be returned.

How much will you have to pay?

Rs 3,000 security and Rs 3,000 line cost will have to be paid. The CM said that the pre-paid meters have just arrived and are being checked.
