Gujarat: Former Congress MLA Alpesh Thakor joins BJP

Ahemdabad | Former Congress Gujarat MLA  and prominent OBC leader Alpesh Thakor today joined the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP).

Thakor a former BJP MLA from Radhanpur constituency along with other former Congress MLA Dhaval Singh Zala joined BJP in presence of Gujarat BJP president Jitu Vaghani.

Thakor had joined the Congress party before 2017 state assembly election, however, he resigned from the party in April 2019. The rift between Thakor and Congress party arised when the party nominated former MP Jagdish Thakor from the Patan Lok Sabha seat, a seat where the OBC leader was keen to contest the 2019 Lok Sabha seat.
