Bengaluru | On Thursday, the former Chief Minister of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah said that he is willing to stay the Chief Minister of Karnataka for another term.
At a gathering in Hassan, Siddaramaiah claimed the opposition parties joined hands together to prevent him from taking over the job of chief minister again, adding words of caste and money were seeping into politics. “I thought people will bless me once again and make me the chief minister. Unfortunately, I lost, but this is not the end. In politics wins and losses are common”, he said.
More so, the Congress Leader replied that he worked for the welfare of all sections of people. He added, during the elections, there wasn’t much support by people. He also claimed that politics is driven by money and power and said that it would be dangerous for democracy. Siddaramaiah at the event in Hassan, referring to the floods in Kodagu criticised the Centre for not announcing relief for the state and its people, and that the Prime Minister should have visited the place, along with an arrival of a relief package.
In an interview with a daily,“I am contesting this time because, having been the Chief Minister for five years, I did not want to run away from the fight. But this will be my last.” Siddaramaiah said.
