JD(U) Leader KC Tyagi Resigns As Party Spokesperson

Janata Dal (United) leader KC Tyagi resigned as party’s national spokesperson on Sunday. The party cited personal reasons for Tyagi’s resignation and appointed Rajiv Ranjan Prasad as the new spokesperson. Reports say the former MP’s remarks on issues like Waqf amendment Bill, Uniform Civil Code and the Israel-Hamas war deviated from the party line and did not go down well with BJP’s leadership.

Haryana Polls Rescheduled To October 5; Results With J&K On October 8

Voting in the upcoming assembly election in Haryana will be now held on 5th October instead of 1st October, the Election Commission announced. The results for both Jammu & Kashmir and Haryana have been shifted from 4th October to 8th October. The poll body said this was done keeping in mind the sentiment of the Bishnoi community – whose centuries-old Asoj Amavasya festival celebration will take place on 2nd October.
