JD(U)’s message to BJP: Nitish Kumar is the face of NDA In Bihar for 2019

The Janata Dal (United), a key constituent of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government in Bihar, has demanded that the BJP finalise the seat-sharing formula for the 2019 general elections, dropping hints that it wants to retain the 2009 formula when the JD(U) had contested on more seats than the BJP.

JD(U) national general secretary Pavan Varma said amid speculation that the party might press for a seat-sharing arrangement for the parliamentary election in 2019. “Nitish Kumar is the face of the NDA in Bihar, that is why he is the chief minister. JD(U) is the largest constituent of the coalition,” Mr Varma said after a core committee meeting at Mr Kumar’s residence.

Ajay Alok on Sunday said that all top leaders of the alliance should sit across the table and decide on the seats, adding that JD(U) used to contest on 25 seats and BJP on 15 seats. “There is no confusion in JD(U) regarding seat sharing. We used to contest on 25 seats and BJP on 15 seats. Now more allies have joined us so all top leaders will decide about the seat sharing,” he said.

The JD(U) core committee met in Patna on Sunday ahead of a meeting of the National Democratic Alliance scheduled later this week. JD(U) national general secretaries KC Tyagi and Pavan Varma who had arrived from New Delhi, poll strategist Prashant Kishor and a few other state leaders took part in the meeting.

It is upto Kapil Mishra if he wants to support BJP or not: Vijay Goel

TestHostEntry

New Delhi: Union Minister Vijay Goel has indicated that suspended Aam Aadmi Party leader Kapil Mishra could join BJP.

Vijay Goel on Sunday paid a visit to Kapil Mishra’s residence for the Sampark for Samarthan (Contact for Support) initiative, which was launched by BJP president Amit Shah on May 30 to reach out to people and generate awareness about Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government’s achievements in the last four years.

“Doors are open for anyone who wants to work for the people. Now, it is on Kapil Mishra to decide if he wants to support the BJP or not. I have known him even before he was an AAP leader. Since then, I saw that he was a good man, not afraid to fight for what’s right. We want all the good people to support the party; this is why we have started the ‘Sampark for Samarthan’ initiative,” Goel told reporters.

“They (Congress and AAP) were against each other up until now. However, because of the achievements of Modi Ji, they are in talks of an alliance, because they are scared,” added Goel.

Earlier Mishra was sacked as the Water Resources Minister after he alleged that Delhi chief minister and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) received money through hawala network along with the accusation that Arvind Kejriwal had accepted Rs 2 crore from Minister Satyendra Jain in his presence.
