Maha Vikas Aghadi to face floor test, Congress-NCP-ShivSena MLAs meet

Meanwhile, the ShivSena-Congress and NCP MLAs are meeting in Vidhan Bhavan before the majority test. There will be a discussion on speaker position.

 

Mumbai| A special session of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly has been called on Saturday. The government said on Saturday that the government of Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi (Shiv Sena-NCP and Congress) will prove its confidence vote (floor test) in the House today. However, Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari has given Uddhav Thackeray till December 3 to prove his majority. On Friday, NCP senior MLA Dilip Valsay Patil was appointed as the Speaker of the Assembly.

Meanwhile, the ShivSena-Congress and NCP MLAs are meeting in Vidhan Bhavan before the majority test. There will be a discussion on speaker position. The Congress speaker will suggest the candidate’s name in the meeting. Actually, the nomination is to be done for the post of speaker till 12 noon today. The speaker will be elected tomorrow or Sunday. At the same time, BJP MP Prataprao Chiklikar met Ajit Pawar. Ajit then said, “It was a courtesy meeting.” Even though we are from different parties, we have relations with each other. There was no discussion on the floor test. Sanjay Raut has already said that our alliance will prove our number in the House today. ”

Fadnavis conceded defeat even before the floor test

In the history of Maharashtra so far, no government has failed the floor test. In the recent political developments, Devendra Fadnavis was in a position to fail in the floor test, but he gave up before the power test in the House and submitted his resignation to the Governor. After Fadnavis formed the government, Shiv Sena challenged the Governor’s decision in the Supreme Court. Devendra Fadnavis resigned 80 hours after the oath, after the Supreme Court’s decision to prove its early majority. After the resignation of Fadnavis, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray took the oath of Chief Minister on November 28 at Chhatrapati Shivaji Stadium.

Dilip has been a speaker of the assembly

Dilip Valse Patil, who was made a pro tem speaker, is a well-known name in the politics of Maharashtra. He has also been a speaker in the state assembly. Apart from the speaker, he has also been the Minister of Power, Finance and Higher Technical Education in the state. Patil, who is the 6th time MLA from Ambegaon Assembly seat, is considered very close to Sharad Pawar. He has also previously been Pawar’s personal advisor (PA).
