Indore | Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan commented on speculations that Malini Gaur will contest from Indore by saying that it is good if someone new is getting a chance.
Mahajan has won the seat from Indore uninterrupted since 1989.
She said, “There is no high command in BJP. The committee keeps their point before the central election committee and then candidates are chosen. A very important criterion in choosing a candidate is ability. I was also new when I came into politics, so it is good she is being given a chance”.
Lok Sabha elections will start this month, in seven phases, from April 11. The counting will end on May 23.
Madhya Pradesh will have polls in four phases.
