Mayawati expels lone MLA from Karnataka assembly after he failed to show up

Bengaluru | Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati has expelled the lone MLA in Karnataka assembly N Mahesh from the party on the charge of indiscipline.

The BSP MLA did not turn up for the floor test on Tuesday to vote for the HD Kumaraswamy government. Despite Mayawati explicitly giving orders to support the struggling coalition.

Writing on Twitter in Hindi she said that the absence of MLA N Mahesh has been considered as indiscipline, and taking a serious note of it, the party has decided to expel him immediately.

Mayawati also added that the party had directed N Mahesh to vote for the Kumaraswamy government but he remained absent during the floor test.

On Sunday, Mayawati had tweeted that she had directed the party MLA to vote in support of the Kumaraswamy government.

The Janata Dal (Secular) had contested the 2018 assembly election in alliance with the BSP.

The struggling Congress-JD(S) government collapsed yesterday after they lost the trust vote after weeks of high intense drama.
