Mumbai | Former Union Minister and two-time MP Milind Deora is the new chief of Mumbai’s Congress committee, replacing Sanjay Nirupam, in a statement released by Congress today.
Deora denied any infighting, however, said that many leaders were upset with the leadership of Nirupam.
“Nirupam needs to try harder. He is not able to bring all the Congress leader and party workers together. You can’t run an organisation in a city like Mumbai as a one-man show, we have to bring people together,” Deora had earlier said in an interview with a news channel.
He had alleged that Nirupam was working like a “one man army”, ignoring other’s opinions.
Congress party today released a list of 26 candidates in Maharashtra; Nirupam will contest from Mumbai North-West.
