Modi govt achieved ‘nothing’ in five years: Chidambaram

Chidambaram said that the Modi government began its term with the promises of development, jobs, etc but after four years it is promising grand temples and statues.

New Delhi| Unleashing a scathing attack on Modi government, senior Congress leader P Chidambaram said that the current dispensation achieved nothing in the last five years. The former Finance Minister also took a jibe on BJP’s 2014 poll promises.

Chidambaram said that the Modi government began its term with the promises of development, jobs, etc but after four years it is promising grand temples and statues. He tweeted, “At the beginning of five years, the promise is for development, jobs and money in every citizen’s bank account. Nothing achieved, at the end of five years, the new promise is for grand temples, giant statues and doles.”

Chidambaram’s tweet came in the light of BJP’s push for Ram Mandir and the recent unveiling of Sardar Patel’s ‘Statue of Unity’.
