New Delhi | Criticising Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his tweet expressing condolence over the unseasonal rain and storm-related deaths in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath today asked Narendra Modi is the Prime Minister of India or just Gujarat.
PM Modi today expressed grief on his twitter handle wrote, “Anguished by the loss of lives due to unseasonal rains and storms in various parts of Gujarat. My thoughts are with the bereaved families. Authorities are monitoring the situation very closely. All possible assistance is being given to those affected.”

Attacking PM Modi on his tweet mentioning the calamity just in the state of Gujarat, Kamal Nath wrote,” Mr. Modi, you are the Prime Minister of the country and not just Gujarat. More than 10 people have died due to unseasonal rain and storms in Madhya Pradesh. But your condolence is just confined to Gujarat only? Even though your party doesn’t have a government in Madhya Pradesh, people do stay here.”
— Office Of Kamal Nath (@OfficeOfKNath) April 17, 2019
Facing criticism on the tweet, the Prime Minister’s Office later tweeted that the government has approved an ex- gratia of Rs 2 lakh each to the families of those who lost their lives due to unseasonal rain & storms in MP, Rajasthan Manipur & various parts of the country from the PM’s National Relief Fund. Rs 50,000 each for the injured has also been approved.
