Modi Sarkar 2.0: Amit Shah gets Home, Nirmala replaces Jaitley as FM

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took an oath yesterday at Rashtrapati Bhavan in front of 8,000 guests and foreign delegacy, along with his Union Cabinet of 58 ministers.

On Friday, the new government will be meeting for the first time at the South Block around 5 pm.

The portfolios of the newly inducted government (is now announced). Most of them have retained their previous files. However, there will be some shuffling due to some fresh faces being sworn-in.

A day before the swearing-in, Prime Minister Modi and BJP president Amit Shah, who is now part of the Modi cabinet, met in a closed-door meeting and deliberated over portfolios for over 2 hours.

After the path of PM Modi, 25 MPs took the oath of office as Cabinet ministers while nine were sworn in as Ministers of State with Independent charge and another 24 as Ministers of State.

Most surprising faces are BJP Chief Amit Shah and former foreign secretary S Jaishankar.

Former Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj had gven up their ministerial duties due to ill health.
