NCP had finalized Vijaysinh Mohite Patil’s candidature from Madha

Mumbai| The Nationalist Congress Party had finalized the name of Vijaysinh Mohite Patil for candidature from Madha constituency, revealed Jayant Patil. The Maharashtra Unit chief said that the name was confirmed by Sharad Pawar himself and the decision was also conveyed to him.

He was talking to the reporters here after the former NCP MP Ranjitsinh Mohite Patil joined BJP on Wednesday. “For many years Vijaysinh Mohite Patil is in the NCP. He has worked as the Minister of State. He was Deputy Chief Minister and had a term as a Member of Parliament. His son Ranjitsinh Mohite Patil was also an MP. Vijaysinh Mohite Patil was given the party’s candidature. but he rejected it and suggested another name. This was opposed by party workers,” Patil said.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis welcoming Ranjitsinh Mohite Patil expressed confidence that he will win the Madha constituency on BJP ticket. “Vijaysinh Mohite Patil’s heart belongs to BJP as well,” Fadnavis claimed.

Reacting to the statement, Jayant Patil said that the NCP will field a strong candidate against BJP in Madha. “We will shatter the illusion of CM Fadnavis,” he said.

When asked about the Congress-NCP alliance in the state he said that the decision on Aghadi will be announced on March 23. “I have talked to Ashok Chavan. We will announce the seat sharing between the two,” Patil said.
