Few NDA leaders don’t want Narendra Modi to become PM: Upendra Kushwaha

Patna| Union Minister and Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP) leader Upendra Kushwaha who is on a row to upset its allies in NDA has once again sparked controversy.

Speaking to reporters during a public meeting, Kushwaha said that some people in the BJP led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) don’t want to see Narendra Modi as the next prime minister in 2019. However, the Union Minister refused to reveal the names of these people. He added that such people intentionally spread rumors to trigger conflict within NDA.

Kushwaha clarified that his party wants Narendra Modi to become again became the Prime Minister after the 2019 polls. Earlier Upendra Kushwaha had also spoken about the possibility of political ties between his own caste group and the Yadavs, which rumored RLSP chief’s intention to join hands with the opposition RJD.

The Union minister, however, clarified later that his party will be a part of NDA and he had spoken about “kheer” made of rice grown by Kushwahas and milk produced by Yadavs with an eye on expansion of his own party base.

Upendra Kushwaha was earlier a part of JD(U) in 2013 and later formed his own party. Kushwaha’s RLSP in the last Lok Sabha elections joined the BJP led NDA and won three seats. The RLSP further won two seats in the 2015 Assembly polls.
