No riots in UP since BJP came to power: UP CM Yogi Adityanath

Lucknow | Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday said the state had not seen a single riot after the BJP came to power and his two-year government had shown zero tolerance towards crime and criminals.

Presenting a report card of his government, which completes two years in office, he said the BJP-led state government had been able to change the perception about the state.

According to the chief minister, the secure atmosphere in the country had become an example for the rest of the country.

The UP Sthaapnaa Diwas (Foundation Day) was celebrated for first time after 68 years in 2018, he said.

Pramod Sawant who was the Speaker in the Goa Assembly took oath as the Chief Minister of Goa at 2 AM in the post-midnight ceremony.

 

Mumbai| The BJP government will prove its majority in the Goa Assembly house on Wednesday. The newly elected Chief Minister of Goa Pramod Sawant confirmed the news today. He said that the floor test will be conducted tomorrow. He also said that the government will also have two deputy chief ministers from the alliance partners.

Pramod Sawant who was the Speaker in the Goa Assembly took oath as the Chief Minister of Goa at 2 AM in the post-midnight ceremony. Goa Forward party’s Vijai Sardesai and Maharashtravadi Gomantak Party’s Sudhir Dhavalikar took oath as the deputy CM.

Talking to the media in Panji, Pramod Sawant requested supporters to not welcome him with flowers or even congratulate him. He said, “I request all the people to not congratulate me or welcome me with flowers during the 7-day mourning period.”

Apart from the CM and his two deputies, nine other ministers of the state cabinet were also sworn in at the ceremony.
