People of the country like “Chowkidar”: PM Modi

Addressing the people through video conferencing, he said that “Chowkidar” is not a system, not a uniform identity and is not a limited concept.

New Delhi| Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that the people of the country like ‘Chowkidar’. He said that people do not need ‘Raja-Maharajas’ and dictators. Prime minister Modi was speaking during the address to the BJP workers and leaders as a part of the “Main Bhi Chowkidar” campaign.

He said that in 2014, the BJP gave him the responsibility and made his PM candidate, he had to go to every corner of the country. “I told the people of the country then that you are giving me the responsibility of Delhi means you are reposing your faith on a ‘Chowkidar’,” PM Modi said. He further added that he had promised people that he will not allow public money to be looted.

Addressing the people through video conferencing, he said that “Chowkidar” is not a system, not a uniform identity and is not a limited concept. “Chowkidar is a spirit, it is a feeling,” PM Modi said. Expressing confidence on the voters, he said the countrymen will give him one more chance to serve the nation. PM Modi also praised the youths of the country calling them ‘far-sighted’.

Taking a dig at the opposition leaders, PM Modi said that the line for Prime Ministerial post is longer than in 2014. “As far as the decision comes, you see a lot of prime ministers in this country or have heard about them. In 2014, many people were in that queue. Today the line is a bit long,” Modi said.

The opposition has been accusing Modi of politicization of the Balakot strike by the IAF. Answering the criticism, he said that Balakot strike’s credit goes to the Armed Forces.

Appealing the people of giving the BJP absolute majority, he said, “Wherever I go in the world, the leaders hug him. When they hug me or shake hands with me, they do not see Modi but a government with an absolute majority.”
