PM Modi fights the ideals and values for which Mahatma Gandhi sacrificed his life: Rahul Gandhi

Wardha | Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday alleged that PM Modi is fighting the ideals and values of the nation for which Mahatma Gandhi sacrificed his life.

Addressing the Congress workers in Maharashtra’s Wardha during the Sankalp Yatra, Rahul Gandhi said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi insulted Mahatma Gandhi and the people of India when on August 15, in his speech from Red fort he said that the elephant was asleep before my Prime minister, nothing happened in India.”

Taking a dig at PM Modi, the Congress president said, “Gandhiji taught to unite the country while Modi Ji is saying to break the country; Gandhiji always spoke the truth while PM Modi daily speaks lie.” He further questioned that Mahatma Gandhi fought for truth all his life. When PM Modi promised ₹15 lakh in every account, was this truth or lie?

Rahul Gandhi further alleged that in the past four years, Narendra Modi has waived 3 lakh crore rupee loans of India’s richest 15-20 people. “The farmers from every state of India is asking PM Modi and Finance minister to waive their loan but both of them are denying,” he added.

Criticising the government for its failure to control the increasing fuel prices, Gandhi said, “Global crude oil prices have been falling, but in India, fuel prices are consistently increased. Modi government is stealing money from the people to fill the pockets of his friends. We do not want to speak our ‘Mann ki Baat’, we want to listen to what the people of this country have to say,” he added.
