Jaipur | Union State Minister of Water Resources and BJP leader Arjun Meghwal on Saturday said that the reason behind the increasing incidents of Mob lynching is the rising popularity of PM Modi.
Speaking to media on the Alwar Mob lynching case where a man was allegedly lynched by a group of people on suspicion that he was smuggling cows Meghwal said,”We condemn mob lynching but this isn’t a single incident. You have to trace this back in history. Why does this happen?”
Alleging the Congress party, Meghwal repeated PM Modi’s statement during the No-confidence Motion saying, “What happened with Sikhs in 1984 was the biggest mob lynching of this nation’s history”.
Meghwal further attacked the opposition parties, “In Bihar election it was ‘Award Wapsi’, UP election it was mob lynching. In 2019 elections it’ll be something else.Modi ji ne yojnaein di aur uska asar dikh raha hai ye uska ek reaction hai (These incidents are the reaction of the success of PM Modi’s successful schemes”.

Suleiman Khan, father of Akbar Khan who was allegedly beaten to death by mob in Alwar’s Ramgarh last night on suspicion of cow smuggling told media that “the family want justice. The culprits should be arrested soon”.
Earlier this month, the Supreme Court had described the cases of lynching by cow vigilantes as a crime and not merely a law and order problem. It put the onus on the states to check such incidents, saying no one can take law into their hands.
