President Kovind addresses nation: Hope the changes in J&K, Ladakh will benefit people

President in his address expressed faith that the people of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh will benefit more after the changes made by the government.

 

New Delhi| On the eve of Independence Day, President Ramnath Kovind addressed the nation. In his address, he talked about the changes made in Jammu and Kashmir by the Modi govt. He said, “I hope the changes made in J&K, Ladakh will prove beneficial for the people.” He was referring to August 5 decision of Modi govt of abrogating Article 370 and bifurcation of the state into two union territories.

President Kovind began his address by congratulating the “children of Mother India”. He said, “We remember with gratitude the numerous freedom fighters and revolutionaries who have fought for freedom, ‍ Presented great ideals of sacrifice.”

President Kovind on Abrogation of Article 370:

President in his address expressed faith that the people of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh will benefit more after the changes made by the government.

“Now, the people of J&K can get all the rights and services that citizens from other parts of the country get. They can also benefit from the laws and regulations that promote equality.”

He said that RTE will ensure that every child gets the right to education, people can access information through RTI and traditionally those sections of society who have been deprived can get a reservation. He said the changes will create a “free of fear” atmosphere.

President Kovind praises Modi govt:

President Kovind also praised the Modi govt. He said, “The government is providing many basic facilities to improve the lives of countrymen.” He expressed happiness that both the houses of parliament were very productive in the recently concluded session of Parliament.” “Our institutions and policymakers should pay full attention to the signals they receive from citizens and respect the views and wishes of the countrymen,” Kovind said.
