Priyanka Gandhi likely to take charge of entire UP Congress

New Delhi | Congress General Secretary for UP East, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, is reportedly all set to take over entire party operations in the Hindi heartland.

The process has been going forward for the past three months, it is believed.

The party has been undergoing a major overhauling process in the past months.

Sources say, Priyanka Gandhi has already met over 11,000 party workers and supporters in Uttar Pradesh.

This development comes following massive defeat in the Lok Sabha elections that concluded on May 2019. Congress managed to win only one seat out of 80, the Raebarely seat of Sonia Gandhi.

Ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Priyanka Gandhi was given a formal role in the party and was appointed the UP general secretary along with Madhya Pradesh Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia, who was in-charge of UP West.

In the past few months, Priyanka Gandhi has met party workers every day for 11 hours from morning till evening. She has met all senior leaders of both eastern and western Uttar Pradesh in these extensive meetings.
