After quiting AAP party, Alka Lamba disqualified from Delhi Assembly

The decision was taken after the petition of Aam Aadmi Party MLA who claimed that the Alka Lama MLA recently joined the Congress.

New Delhi | Delhi speaker Ram Niwas Goel on Thursday disqualified Alka Lamba from the Assembly under the anti-defection law, days after she announced that she was quitting the AAP returning to the Congress.

According to the statement, the disqualification of Lamba took place on September 6.

With Lamba’s disqualification, the Chandani Chowk Assembly Seat has fallen vacant.

The decision was taken on the petition of AAP legislator Saurabh Bhardwaj who sad that the Chandani Chowk MLA recently joined Congress.

Alka Lamba the respondent in this care an elected member of the Legislative Assembly of the National capital territory of Delhi elected from Chandini Chowk has become subject to disqualification under paragraph 2(1)(a) of the Tenth Schedule of the constitution the statement said.
