Rahul Gandhi detained during protest against removal of CBI director Alok Verma

New Delhi | Congress President Rahul Gandhi, along with other top party leaders Ashok Gehlot, Pramod Tiwari and Ahmed Patel, have courted arrest at Lodhi Road police station. The Congress party were protesting against the overnight CBI row for the removal of CBI Director Alok Verma.

However, Rahul Gandhi was later released from the Police Station soon after his detention. Outside the police station, Rahul said that “PM can run, he can hide but in the end, truth will be revealed. Removing CBI Director will not help. PM acted against CBI Director; it was an act out of panic.”

 

Coming out of the station, Rahul further accused the prime minister and that he cannot flee from the truth. Congress chief along with hundreds of party workers across the country was protesting outside CBI headquarters.
