Maharashtra Minister and BJP leader Nitesh Rane has once again sparked controversy with his remarks. “Kerala is mini Pakistan that is why Rahul Gandhi and his sister are elected from there. All terrorists vote for them. This is the truth, you can ask. They have become MPs after taking terrorists with them.” Addressing a rally in Purandar Taluka of Pune district, the state fisheries minister said.
Reacting to the statement, Congress spokesperson Atul Londhe Patil has questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis that someone who is referring to a state of the country as Mini Pakistan and Indians who are not voting for the BJP as terrorists does such a person has the right to be a part of the government?

After massive backlash over his remarks, Getting into damage control mode, Rane clarified that he was comparing the situation in Kerala with Pakistan.
“Kerala is very much part of India. However, the decreasing population of Hindus is something everyone should worry about. The religious conversion of Hindus into Muslims and Christians has become an everyday thing there,” 42-year-old Nitesh Rane said speaking to news agency ANI.
Rane further said: “The love jihad cases where Hindu women are targeted are also increasing there. I was comparing the situation (in Kerala) with Pakistan. The way Hindus are treated in Pakistan, if such situations happen in our very own country, we must take action against that. That is what I was trying to say in my speech.”
“We want our country, which is a Hindu Rashtra, to be a Hindu Rashtra, and Hindus should be protected in every way.”
“The entire situation can be compared. I was just stating the facts. I was accompanied by a gentleman who has helped 12,000 Hindu women by stopping them from getting converted to Islam and Christianity. What I said about Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, you ask anyone in the Wayanad constituency. Who are the people who support them?” Rane said.
Till the time of recording this video, there has been no statement from CM Fadnavis regarding the controversy.
Earlier this year, Karnataka High Court’s Justice V. Srishanand referred to a Muslim-majority area in Bengaluru as ‘Mini Pakistan’ during a hearing about traffic issues.
Reacting to which the then Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud had said, expressing concerns: “You can’t call any part of the territory of India as “Pakistan”. It is fundamentally contrary to the territorial integrity of the nation.”
