Rift in RJD? Tej Pratap Yadav quits party post with a cryptic message

Tej Pratap was also reportedly upset with Tejashwi over the candidature of Chandrika Rai from Saran. Last year, Tej Pratap had married her daughter Aishwarya Rai.

Patna| Amidst the reports of factionalism in the Bihar Grand Alliance, Tej Pratap, the elder son of Lalu Yadav quit from the party post indicating at the possible rift within the RJD itself. On Thursday, he resigned as the ‘sanrakshak’ (mentor) of the “Chhatra Rashtriya Janata Dal”- party’s students wing.

Announcing his decision on Twitter he seemed to take, he said, “I am resigning from the post of Chhatra Rashtriya Janata Dal Sanrakshak.”

In the cryptic message, he said that those who consider him ignorant or naive are naive themselves. “I am well aware of who is worth what,” he said.
There have been reports that all is not well between Lalu Prasad Yadav’s younger son Tejashwi Yadav who is running RJD and his elder son Tej Pratap Yadav. The feud between the two brothers seems to be affecting RJD’s candidate selection process as well.
A few Days ago, Tej Pratap Yadav allegedly snapped at party leaders when talks were on for fielding another candidate from Patliputra, the constituency currently represented by Lalu Yadav’s daughter Dr. Misa Bharati. Reportedly, he told the leaders that the seat belongs to his “Didi”. He even launched campaigning for her in the constituency. Thus, the speculations of two factions led by Lalu Yadav’s two sons started gaining ground.
He was also reportedly upset with Tejashwi over the candidature of Chandrika Rai from Saran. Last year, Tej Pratap had married her daughter Aishwarya Rai. However, in a few months, he sought a divorce from her citing that both did not get along and the family pressured him into getting married. He had also left the home for a few days.
However, Tej Pratap Yadav refuted the allegations of causing split in the party. He noted that he wanted to press for the candidature of his confidants Angesh Kumar and Chandra Prakash from Sheohar and Jehanabad, respectively. Later, on the insistence of his mother Rabri Devi and Father who is serving his jail sentence, he called it off in the middle.
