RSS ‘shakhas’ would not be allowed in Government buildings: Congress MP Manifesto

Congress in its manifesto for the Madhya Pradesh assembly election has said that the party will bar RSS shakhas in government buildings and premises

Bhopal| Continuing its anti-RSS stance, Congress in its manifesto for the Madhya Pradesh assembly election has said that the party will bar RSS shakhas in government buildings and premises if voted to power. Congress released its manifesto on Saturday. The manifesto was released by Congress state unit president Kamal Nath. The manifesto promised 50% loan waiver, Gaushalas in every panchayat amidst other promises.

The party has also said that the previous order of the Madhya Pradesh government under Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to allow Government employees to attend RSS ‘shakhas’ will be revoked.

Justifying the manifesto promise on RSS, senior Congress leader P Chidambaram said that the Congress government will put an end to this practice and there was nothing wrong with the statement in the manifesto. He said, “RSS is a political org. Congress party in MP in their manifesto has said it will put an end to this practice, I see nothing wrong with that.” He further added that government servants as long as they are working in govt shouldn’t openly associate with a political party.

Attacking the Congress party over its manifesto promise, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said that the Congress does not want the RSS shakhas to run. He said, “Looks like the Congress these days has only one motto- ‘Mandir nahi ban ne denge, Shakha nahi chalne denge.”
