New Delhi | Hitting out the Congress Rajasthan Unit chief, Sachin Pilot for party’s poor performance in Rajasthan, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot blamed his deputy for his son Vaibhav Gehlot defeat on the Jodhpur Lok Sabha seat.
In an interview to ABP news, the Rajasthan CM said that everyone should take responsibility for the party’s performance as the polls were contested under collective leadership.”We lost all 25 seats. If someone says that the CM or the PCC chief should take responsibility for it, I believe it’s a collective responsibility,” said Gehlot.
When asked whether Pilot suggest Vaibhav Gehlot’s name from Jodhpur, Ashok Gehlot said, Pilot Saab, assured that we will win the Jodhpur seat with a huge margin as the Congress party won 6 seats under the Jodhpur parliamentary seat in the December assembly polls. A complete post-morterm should be done of the Jodhpur seat to understand why we lost, he added.
The Rajasthan CM was criticised by the opposition for completely focusing on the Jodhpur seat to ensure his son victory. According to reports, 193 out of 236 meetings conducted by Ashok Gehlot in Jodhpur alone where his son contested against BJP Gajendra Singh Shekhawat. The seat has been a stronghold for Ashok Gehlot as he reach Lok Sabha 5 time from this seat.
