Manoj Tiwari demands Anti-Romeo squads in Delhi

New Delhi | BJP MP and chief of BJP’s Delhi unit on Saturday demanded that similar to Uttar Pradesh, anti-Romeo squads should be started in the national capital.

Speaking to news agency ANI, Tiwari said, “Anti-Romeo squad is a very good thing & it is being started in Uttar Pradesh again. It should be welcomed as it is related to women safety. In my opinion, it should be started in Delhi also.”

Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh police’s Anti-Romeo Squads will be issuing ‘Red Card’ to offenders found harassing women. “We’ve activated Anti-Romeo squads across Dist. The Squads will issue ‘Red Cards’ to offenders warning them of strict action if found repeating an offence,” said Gautam Budhnagar SSP Vaibhav Krishna.

Anti-Romeo squads were started in Uttar Pradesh after the Yogi Adityanath led BJP government came to power in 2017 to ensure women safety and control on eve-teasing and harassment of women.
