Supreme Court: Candidates Must Reveal Luxury Properties, Not Every Asset

The Supreme Court ruled that candidates in elections aren’t required to disclose all their movable assets unless they are of substantial value or indicate a luxurious lifestyle. This decision came as it upheld the election of Independent MLA Karikho Kri in the 2019 Arunachal Pradesh Assembly election, overturning the Gauhati High Court’s void declaration.
