TDP releases 8-pages list refuting BJP’s claim of helping Andhra Pradesh

TDP lashed out at BJP saying that centre has allocated Rs 1500 crores for smart cities across India, however it has not released even a single rupee for it.

The constant tug of war between Telugu Desam Party and Bharatiya Janata Party seems to find no conclusive end. After Shivsena, TDP was the second party who have been in a tiff with BJP. TDP chief and the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Chandrababu Naidu had recently told the party MPs to pressurize the Central Government to pay more attention to Andhra Pradesh’s issues.

However, hitting at the ally Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had listed the provisions Centre made for the state of Andhra Pradesh. However, TDP hitting back at the BJP has refuted Centre’s claim regarding financial support extended to the state. TDP Party knowledge Centre on Sunday released a draft of 8 pages presenting facts to counter the claims of BJP.

The BJP has mentioned that to cover the state’s revenue deficit, Centre has allocated Rs 3,979.5 crore. It also promised to allocate Rs 22,113 crore to the state by 2020. TDP said that balance amount is still due and Centre backing out from its earlier claim is issuing only 120 crores.

To construct the capital city, Amravati– India’s first smart and world-class city, the centre had promised Rs 3,500 crores. However, so far only Rs 1,500 crores had been released. TDP lashed out at BJP saying that centre has allocated Rs 1500 crores for smart cities across India, however it has not released even a single rupee for it. In the 8-pages report, the TDP countered BJP on 25 more issues.

TDP attacked the BJP saying the 27-pages report released by it is misguiding the public. It said the claims made by the Centre are more like a “Cinematic Script”. The report further mentioned that after separation, Andhra Pradesh now needs to build a Raj Bhavan, the Secretariat, the Assembly and other institutional buildings for Amravati. The cost that will be endured is measured at around Rs 42,935 crores. The Party asked whether the 1500 crores released by the Centre is enough when compared to this amount.

The ally is also upset with BJP over Centre’s lax approach towards the Polavaram project. TDP said the centre had agreed to cover the entire cost of the project. However, it has only released Rs 4,662 crores for the project costing Rs 7,900 crores. The party said the rest of the amount is not yet released by the centre.
