Uddhav Thackeray dials PM Modi, Son Aaditya invites Sonia Gandhi, Manmohan Singh for swearing-in ceremony

Mumbai| ShivSena chief Uddhav Thackeray is all set to take oath as Maharashtra Chief Minister today at 6.40 pm at Shivaji Park in Mumbai. Uddhav called Prime Minister Narendra Modi and invited him to attend the program. Earlier, he also sent an invitation letter to the Prime Minister. Along with Uddhav, two ministers each of Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi parties i.e. ShivSena, Congress-NCP will take an oath.

After the meeting of the three parties on Wednesday evening, a final agreement has been reached about the ministry’s division. On Wednesday, NCP leader Praful Patel said that it is necessary to get a vote of confidence before December 3 and the rest of the cabinet will be expanded only after that.

Patel also said that there would be only one deputy CM in Maharashtra. However, he did not say anything about Ajit Pawar’s question. According to party sources, Jayant Patil could become the next Deputy Chief Minister. According to Patel, the Congress has been given the post of speaker. There will also be a deputy speaker in the assembly, this post has gone to NCP.

Aditya Thackeray went to Delhi to call Sonia, Manmohan

Late on Wednesday, Aaditya Thackeray reached 10 Janpath to invite Sonia Gandhi for the oath-taking ceremony. Aaditya also invited former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to attend the ceremony. Apart from these, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, DMK President MK Stalin, Madhya Pradesh CM Kamal Nath, Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, JDS chief HD Deve Gowda and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal have been invited. The families of 400 farmers who committed suicide in Maharashtra have also been called to the ceremony.

70 thousand chairs placed

All night preparations have been made to make Uddhav Thackeray’s oath into a grand ceremony. BMC, PWD and police officials were present here. Over 70 thousand chairs have been installed in Shivaji Park, while on a large platform more than a hundred chairs have been set for special guests.

Here’s why Uddhav is taking oath in Shivaji Park

Shivaji Park in Mumbai has always been special for the Thackeray family. This is the ground from where party leader Sanjay Raut had announced that the next Chief Minister of Maharashtra will be from ShivSena at ShivSena’s Dussehra rally. Bala Saheb was cremated here. There is a large statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj behind the stage where the stage is being built for the swearing-in ceremony. Also, a memorial to Bal Thackeray remains. It is here that Uddhav Thackeray and other VVIP attend the swearing-in ceremony.
