Uddhav Thackeray links JNU violence with 26/11 Mumbai terror attack

Thackeray said, “those who involved in the violence need to be unmasked and their faces must be known to the whole nation”

Mumbai: On Monday Maharashtra Chief Minister and ShivSena Supremo Uddhav Thackeray links the JNU violence with the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack and said students were feeling “unsafe” in this country.

“Why were the assailants face covered? Why are they all hiding? looking at the incident I remembered the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. Attackers are cowards,” said Uddhav Thackeray by condemning the violence strongly.

Thackeray said, “those who involved in the violence need to be unmasked and their faces must be known to the whole nation”. He added that in due course they are bound to be exposed. ”Students are feeling unsafe in India,”.

Thackeray also compared the masked attackers to ”cowards” and demanded that their identity should be revealed.

Uddhav Thackeray remarks have come a day after more than 20 people, including JNU Students’ Union president Aishe Ghosh, were injured as chaos reigned on the campus for nearly two hours.

Some eyewitnesses alleged the attackers entered the campus when a meeting was being held by JNU Teachers’ Association on the issue of violence on campus and assaulted students and professors. They also moved forcefully into three hostels.
