Uddhav Thackeray meets Maharashtra Governor ahead of Swearing-In as CM

Uddhav Thackeray also tried to clarify that ShivSena has not compromised the ideology of Hindutva. He said, “There is no falsehood in my Hindutva.

 

Mumbai| The special session of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly began on Wednesday. Protem speaker Kalidas Kolambkar first administered the oath of office and secrecy to Devendra Fadnavis. After this, all 288 MLAs were also administered the oath of office by Kolambkar. NCP MP Supriya Sule received all the MLAs in the assembly. Supriya also hugged her brother Ajit Pawar. Supriya said that the responsibilities of MLAs have increased. Meanwhile, Uddhav Thackeray and his wife Rashmi went to meet Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari.

Earlier, ShivSena President Uddhav Thackeray was elected as the leader of the alliance at a meeting of MLAs of the three parties (the ShivSena, NCP and Congress alliance was named Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi) at Hotel Trident on Tuesday. Later in the evening, the delegation of the coalition arrived to meet Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari. It included many leaders including Balasaheb Thorat, Eknath Shinde, Chhagan Bhujbal along with Aditya Thackeray. They handed over the letter of support of the legislators to the governor and claimed to form the government. Uddhav will take oath at Shivaji Park on November 28 at 6.40 pm. He will be the 29th Chief Minister of the state.

‘I never dreamed of leadership’

ShivSena chief Uddhav Thackeray, who reached the Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi meeting at Trident Hotel on Monday, said, “I had never dreamed of leading the state. I want to thank Sonia Gandhi and others. We are giving a new direction to the country by trusting each other.” NCP chief Sharad Pawar said that there was a need for change in the state. Referring to Balasaheb Thackeray, Sharad Pawar said that he was very intelligent. “If he were today, he would be very happy,” he said. Departing from the hotel, Uddhav went to Balasaheb’s room in Matoshree and paid tribute to him.

No compromise with ideology: Uddhav

Uddhav also tried to clarify that ShivSena has not compromised the ideology of Hindutva. He said, “There is no falsehood in my Hindutva. They are saying that we have violated ShivSena’s ideals but I want to tell that ShivSena was not established to seat them in the palanquin.”

Raut had claimed – Thackeray will be Chief Minister for 5 years

It was only after the Supreme Court’s floor test decision that CM Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar resigned and it was clear that the NCP-Congress-Shiv Sena coalition would be formed in Maharashtra. Only after this, ShivSena spokesman Sanjay Raut had claimed that Uddhav Thackeray would be the Chief Minister for 5 years.
