New Delhi | In its first cabinet meeting the Prime Minister Narendra Modi led Union cabinet approved major change in the ‘Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme’ under the National Defence Fund.
PM Narendra Modi led cabinet in its decision increased the rates of scholarship from Rs. 2000 per month to Rs. 2500 per month for boys and from Rs. 2250 per month to Rs. 3000 per month for girls. Along with this the Ambit of the Scholarship Scheme is now extended to the wards of State Police officials who are/were martyred during terror/naxal attacks. The quota of new scholarships for wards of state police officials will be 500 in a year.

Just a day after the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with his council of ministers, all the designated ministers today met for the Union cabinet’s 1st meeting.
PM Modi along with Amit Shah, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Giriraj Singh, Dharmendra Paradhan, Nirmala Sitharaman, Giriraj Singh, Rajnath Singh, Smriti Irani and Arvind Swant were present at the meeting.
