Reportedly, a group of students affiliated to the two left-leaning student bodies, AFSU and SFI stopped him from entering the University campus. This went on for an hour. Again, they refused to let him out of the university gate at around 5 PM in the evening. The Minister even claimed that he was “Pulled by hair”.

The Minister took it to twitter saying, “I will not find anything that provokes me. The role of the opposition in keeping democracy alive is as important as that of the ruling party, and it is necessary to listen to the differences patiently. Such behaviour is inappropriate and reprehensible.”

West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar has taken a “very serious view” of the incident, his press secretary told reporters, adding he has spoken to the Chief Secretary of the state about the matter.
