Mumbai | Various reports are surfacing of the voting ink vanishing after an attempt with simple acetone, amid the Phase 4 of the Lok Sabha elections.
This time, Congress spokesperson Sanjay Jha tweeted about the problem.
Dear @ECISVEEP : My ink vanished fairly easily. And I am not the only one. pic.twitter.com/OTl1PZEfMI

He said in the video that his friend had claimed that without anything more than the slightest effort, the voting ink was obliterated.
He said to test this, he tried it too, using a nail polish remover.
Nail Polish removers contain acetone and can be used for cleaning multiple stains.
He showed his finger in front of the camera as proof for the viewers.
Sanjay Jha, in the end, demanded answers from the Election Commission.
The voting ink on the voter’s finger is applied to prevent duplicacy of votes.
The ink is usually strong enough to sustain for a few days despite cleaners, detergents and a few chemicals.
However, if the ink can be easily taken down, it can result in multiple voting by a single person.
