Second embarrassment for BJP in a day! Amit Shah calls own CM candidate Yeddyurappa the “Most Corrupt”

BJP President Amit Shah mistakenly named party’s CM candidate Yeddyurappa the “most corrupt” which left him red-faced.

In what can be called as the biggest goof-up of the day, BJP National President Amit Shah termed the government led by party’s own Chief Ministerial candidate BS Yeddyurappa as the “Most Corrupt”. Amit Shah was addressing a press conference in Davangere.

Everyone seemed visibly shocked by his statement. Yeddyurappa who was seated beside Amit Shah too was stunned by the party president’s “slip of the tongue”. Amit Shah who is in the state for campaigning ahead of upcoming Karnataka Assembly Elections said, “A retired Supreme Court judge recently said that if we hold a competition for the most corrupt government in the country, then Yeddyurappa government shall be given the No. 1 award.”

Clearly, Amit Shah who has been attacking the Congress government led by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in the state over Separate Lingayat status accorded to the community meant to attack the Chief Minister. However, he mistakenly spelt Yeddyurappa’s name which left the CM candidate red-faced. Realizing the goof-up another party leader nudged Amit Shah who then corrected his mistake.

Not budged by this, Amit Shah continued his attack on the Congress government on the state. He also alleged that Siddaramaiah wears a wristwatch worth ₹40 Lakh.

However, his goof up posed an opportunity for the opposition Congress to take a dig at the party. Congress President Rahul Gandhi tweeted the video of the goof-up mocking it as a Congress’ “Top secret campaign video”. Further mocking Amit Shah he says the video has been gifted to the party by BJP president and it will give a fabulous start to the Congress’ campaign.
