Monday is the last day for filing nomination for various posts of BCCI. However, the election is not likely to be held because all the posts are fixed without any lobbying for several days.

Brijesh Patel was considered a strong contender for the post of president.

47-year-old Sourav is currently the president of the Cricket Association of Bengal. Earlier, Brijesh was considered a strong contender for the post with the support of N Srinivasan, but after Saurav’s name cropped up, Brijesh’s claim ended. An official told PTI, “We are very happy to have Sourav elected as the new BCCI. It is believed that Patel may now become the new chairman of the IPL”.
