Mecca Masjid case judge resumes work after the rejection of his resignation

TestHostEntry

Hyderabad high court judge, K Ravinder Reddy, who had quit his office, after acquitting all the accused in the Mecca Masjid blast case on Monday has resumed his duties after High Court rejected his resignation and cancelled his leave.

The high court’s reason for rejecting Reddy’s resignation is not yet known. Earlier, people close to Reddy said he had cited “personal reasons” and “injustice to Telangana” as factors for his resignation.

After resigning, the judge had proceeded on 15-day leave that has been cancelled.

Reddy raised a lot of eyebrows after he stepped down immediately from his post once the verdict was announced. It was speculated that he had come under immense pressure to acquit all the accused in the controversial case.

The judge said they had been acquitted because the National Investigation Agency (NIA) had failed to establish their role in the blast where nine people were killed and over 50 injured.
