The Shiv Sena once again has trained its gun at the BJP. The ties between the former allies hit rock bottom, after assembly poll results. In the NDA meeting that happened recently, Sena was not invited. Apparently, ShivSena is upset with it. It has also accused the BJP of announcing Sena’s ouster from NDA without any discussion.
In an editorial in its mouthpiece Saamana, Sena said the party supported Hindutva “at a time when nobody touched it… when many of you were not even born”.
The editorial further asked “If BJP thought that ShivSena had gone against the NDA, why didn’t it have the courage to discuss it in an NDA meeting? Did the BJP seek NDA’s permission before coming together with Mehbooba Mufti or with Nitish Kumar?”
Meanwhile, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar met Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Monday. Hours after the meet Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut called on him. Talking to reporters about the discussions, he expressed confidence that a Sena-led coalition would soon take power in Maharashtra, which has been under President’s Rule for a week. #MaharashtraPoliticalCrisis #IronLady #JNUProtests
